THE PLACE | Chateau le Mont Epinguet

Built in 1751, Chateau le Mont Epinguet is steeped in history and tradition. Originally a prosperous farming estate, the chateau stood in over 2000 acres in the richest region of France in the 18th century. During WWII, the château was occupied by the Germans as a communication headquarters.

The current owners, Mark and Fiona Berridge, purchased Chateau le Mont Epinguet in 1990 and keep it in a rustic, “shabby chic” style that provides the perfect setting for our students.  The atmosphere is casual and welcoming and our program has exclusive use of the entire property.

Accommodation is split between the chateau and the “gites”, carriage houses now converted into residences. Students room together in doubles or triples in same sex accommodation, divided either by floor or by building.  Three meals daily are provided by our in-house chef and consist of “continental” style breakfast (croissant, fruit, yogurt, cereal) sandwiches and salads for lunch and a hot, sit-down dinner.
