THE PROGRAM
PROCESS
“You are enough.” A familiar saying at Acting Abroad, our teaching process begins with the idea that all of the tools an actor needs are within themselves. Through daily training of the voice and body, our actors begin to build physical, vocal and emotional reflexes that move them closer to perfecting the skill of “being in the moment” on stage and on camera.
PERFORMANCE
Ongoing performance opportunities give every student the chance to show their work. Our special “Talent Share” nights every Saturday are an open performance night of music, dance and acting. The program culminates in a series of showcases, including our Writer/Performer/Director Showcase, Musical Theatre Showcase and our Final Showcase of scenes and monologues before an invited audience.
THANK YOU Acting Abroad! Vivien was bowled over by her experience. It has set a very impressive benchmark for her entry into the American Academy for Dramatic Art in the fall.

CORE CLASSES
Our program follows gives students a taste of a college theatre conservatory program, with a set of core classes that every student participates in. There are five core classes on a weekly rotation with three classes per day, each two hours in length. Students work on a variety of monologues, scenes, ensemble pieces and exercises which they will rehearse both inside and outside of class time.
Ellary loved her time in France. She just got the lead in a play at the Paramount Theatre in Austin and Acting Abroad gave her the tools!

EXTRAS
FRENCH PROGRAM
Although it is not necessary to speak any French to attend Acting Abroad, students who do speak French or would like to learn some French can enroll in our French Program.
The French Program is a one-on-one program that is tailored to each students individual level. Our resident French tutor combines written exercises, reading assignments and oral exercises to help each student further develop their French language skills.
French Program students come together to form a special French Drama Troupe and present an evening of work from some of the great French playwrights including Racine, Ionesco, Anouilh and Sartre.
PARIS EXETENSION TRIP
The perfect finale to a summer in France, our new Paris Extension Program is an optional three day trip to the legendary “City of Lights”.
We take in all the major sites including the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre, the Pantheon and many more. Our group stays at the MIJE, a student residence located in the Marais district, in the heart of Paris.
The group enjoys meals at a variety of French restaurants and cafes and a Seine Cruise on the final evening. |
