SCHOLARSHIPS

Acting Abroad is committed to fostering the talent of young actors through quality training programs in inspirational settings abroad regardless of their economic circumstances.  For 2009, we are offering two types of scholarships:

TALENT SCHOLARSHIP

ROUND 1 DEADLINE – DEC 1, 2008
ROUND 2 DEADLINE (If spaces remain in the program) – MARCH 1, 2009

This award is a set amount of $2500.  This scholarship is open to all students currently in grades 9-12 and is awarded on the basis of accomplishment in the theatre arts. To apply for the Talent Scholarship, please complete the Scholarship Application found HERE and submit the following support documents with your application:

- Resume (required) and headshot (only if readily available, otherwise any photo will do).  On your resume please include theatre experience (you may include technical also), work experience, volunteer experience, other awards, sports, hobbies and anything else you feel might be relevant. 

- A photocopy of your most recent grade report/transcript.

- A letter of recommendation from one teacher, preferably your theatre teacher.  This letter should address your abilities as a actor, your work ethic in their class, how well you work with your fellow acting students and any other information that may assist your application.

FINANCIAL NEED SCHOLARSHIP

This award is an amount up to 70% of the program tuition. The amount of the awards will be decided on an individual basis taking both academic achievement and financial need into account.

Please note that we will be considering applications and making awards on a first-come, first-served basis starting in SEPTEMBER 2008 until the program is full so is highly recommended that you send your completed application in as soon as possible.

- Page 1 of your parent (s) tax return from the most recent tax year.  If you are on financial aid at your school, please provide the amount of your financial aid.  PLEASE NOTE THAT YOUR SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION CANNOT BE CONSIDERED WITHOUT THESE DOCUMENTS.
